Coolock (An Chúlóg in Irish) is an area on Dublin city's Northside in Ireland. The settlement grew up around a small early-Christian church. A Catholic church, St. John's, was later built in the area. Coolock has a history dating back over 3,500 years – a bronze-age burial site in the area dates back to 1500 BC. It remained a small village until the 1950's, when it started to be developed as part of Dublin's suburbs. Coolock is home to Cadbury Ireland, Beechlawn Rovers Football Club, Parnells GAA club, and formerly Tayto Crisps which closed in 2005. Coolock is also home to the Stardust Memorial Garden which is dedicated to the 48 people who lost their lives in the Stardust nightclub.

Hen Party From Leicstershire, UK
Hi there,

Me and a group girls came over to Dublin from Leicestershire UK for a hen party a couple of weeks ago. Donna (chief hen) is getting married on 26th August 2006.
We met up with a great bunch of lads who were on a stag do (the stag was a junior accountant - not sure of his name). There were another few guys there, one called Gary. I am pretty sure he said he was from the Coolock area. We had a really cool time and it would be great to get back in touch, so that if we ever come back over the waters to Dublin, we could meet up? Not sure if anyone on this site can help, but worth a try hey?!
I also remember that they had been racing earlier on that day (horses or dogs - not too sure?). Gary was approx 26, with short shaven brown hair, blue shirt, jeans and brown shoes - occassionally sighetd wearing a pink cowboy hat (that was mine!). Us girls were all wearing black tops with hen motifs on the back and pink cowboy hats (classy hey!!) - we all met up in the Temple Bar pub in the centre of town. Can anyone help? Thanks Jenny
