Drumcondra (Irish: Droim Conrach) is a fashionable residential area on the Northside of Dublin, Ireland.

It is famous as the base for Taoiseach Bertie Ahern TD, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Ireland and is the location for Tolka Park, the home of Irish Premier League soccer team Shelbourne F.C.. It is the site of the palace of the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Dublin and three colleges are located here: All Hallows College, Mater Dei Institute of Education and St Patrick's College of Education. All three of these colleges are associated with the Irish Roman Catholic Church.

The site of the Cat and Cage pub on Drumcondra Road was the site of the an old postal stop and the point at which rebels, during the 1798 rebellion, seized the postal cart in order to signal to others in north Co. Dublin to revolt.

Dublin Metro in Drumcondra
The new Dublin metro system is proposed to pass through Drumcondra. From what I can make out, it hasn't been decided whether it will pass through Ballymun, or through to the East, but either way, Drumcondra would be on the route.

Does anyone know where the route will go through Drumcondra, and whether it will be above or below ground?
