Cabra was built in the 1930's I was born in 1935 on Fassaugh Rd. Cabra. West Cabra was built in the 1940's. I was old enough to remember the first houses being built on Fassaugh Ave. West Cabra.

Hi yellowhammer,

Are you still living in or around Cabra? You must have seen huge changes there over the years.

I've only been in Dublin a few years, and I find the pace of change incredible - even in the space of five years, some places are unrecognisable.

I used to live on Mulroy Road in the 50s
went to the Convent SCHOOL.
My Dad helped run the First Football Team in Cabra West.
He was a POSTMAN They played on the field by the old Tin Church.(Father Burke was Parish Priest)
Anybody in their late 60s now should remember those days.
I have lived in England since the late 50s.
Anyone out there who went to St Peters School 1948-1953.

hello everyone from Cabra and Cabra West. I mostly spend my teenage years around the old play ground (lare) on the bridge old Cabra across from Matt 's, Good times. Now a days it's the GAA club still enjoyed by all the local's. Home was Kilkierana road still is home even though I've lived in Canada for 17 years Germany before that. Lucky enough to get home some.
The Bogges name was changed to John Paul second when the Pope came to Ireland late 80 ( not sure of year) everyone still know's it as the bogges and the roundabout on Fassaugh Avenue is now named Bogges Roundabout. cool ya . Happy Xmas and the best of Irish for the new year. Funny xmas mass is never the same as it is in Precious Blood for me anyway.
